About Iain Pirie
After more than 37 years in the global entertainment industry, I’ve learned that success isn’t just about talent, strategy, or opportunity, it’s very firmly about people. The conversations, the challenges, the growth, and the moments of clarity that emerge.
My career began within the UK Record Industry in the late 1980s running A&R Administration, supporting Recording Artists and creative teams through the fast-evolving world of Music Production Management.
By the late 1990s I was working in Artist Management, label operations, and Television, rising from a Junior Artist Manager role to ultimately becoming President of the US division of a hugely successful Los Angeles-based multinational Entertainment Company.
I lead professional teams, creative projects, and Recording Artists through all stages of creative and professional development surrounding one of the most successful Music & Television properties ever created.
In 2014, I shifted into consultancy, joining the Recording Academy and advising a wide range of Artists, Songwriters, and Music Producers, while also being appointed Advisory Board Chairman for an emerging digital start-up. Through it all, what I valued most was supporting people in their search for direction, confidence, and meaning in what they do and who they are.
That passion has led me to broaden my interests into Professional Coaching, work that has opened up some of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my career.
As an International Coaching Federation member, an Advanced Level Erickson Coaching International alumni and a proud member of Backline (the Music Industry’s Mental Health & Wellness Resource Network) , my coaching work draws on decades of experience in leadership, mentorship, and creative collaboration, helping clients navigate transition, unlock potential, and create purposeful balance in both work and life.
